Whether you’re a Rice Student, Rice Alum, Professor, Member of the Houston Community, or not affiliated with Rice at all, anyone can become a member of the Rice Economic Forum. If you are a Rice Student, we recommend you to join using OwlNest, if you are not a Rice Student we encourage you to submit a interest form below. There is no selection process, all are welcome!
Why become a member:

Membership is not required to attend REF events or programs. If you would like to stay updated regarding our programming, we recommend you formally join the club with either of the methods mentioned above. Furthermore, if you would like to contribute to the REF’s programming, research, or events, we highly recommend you join and attend our next General Body Meeting, or submit a interest form.
What qualifies you for full membership:

The Rice Economic Forum uses a tiered membership system to promote participation. Only Rice University students may become full members and poses the power to vote for decisions the club makes and run for Executive Council positions.* To become a full member, a Rice Student must attend at least half the General Body Meetings hosted throughout the year. All others may become at most affiliate member.* For more information please read the Rice Economic Forum’s Constitution.
How to get involved in leadership:

Only full members may run for elected Executive Council positions. If you would like to run for a position we recommend you complete Rice’s club leadership training, or club finance training, (depending on the position you’re interested in), and attend as many General Body Meetings as possible before running for a position. If you are an affiliate, or an affiliate member of the Rice Economic Forum, and are interested in joining the REF’s Board please email the Rice Economic Forum’s President directly.
